Disappearance in Italy: Viviana strangled her 4-year-old son to death and then committed suicide

Gioele, 4, and his mother Viviani Parisi, 43, disappeared on August 3 in Italy. The mother had told her husband that she was going with her son to Messina to buy shoes.

But she had been in a car accident in a highway tunnel, with the child sitting in infant seat.

Witnesses saw her get out of the vehicle, pass under the railing and disappear with the child in her arms.

Viviana’s lifeless body was found on August 8 in a nearby forest at the foot of a high-voltage pylon.

On Wednesday, the trunk and femur of the 4-year-old were found a few hundred meters away.

The investigation revealed that Viviana strangled her son Gioele to death and then climbed the electricity pylon, before committing suicide by throwing herself into the void. The child’s body was then devoured by the animals.

Experts believe that the mother initially went to the Palermo-Messina motorway viaduct, where she planned to kill herself with the child, but her plan would have failed because of the accident.

The husband does not believe the police version and believes his wife and son were attacked by animals.

“My wife has never touched my son, even with a finger … I will fight until I die to know the truth. My pain has no limits, but I’m not ready to tolerate more mud on Viviana, me or my family, ‚ÄĚDaniele testified.
