Nine-year-old girl raped and stabbed in 1984: suspect identified 36 years later

Christine Jessop, 9, went missing on October 3, 1984 in Canada.

That day, she left her home in Queensville, north of Toronto, and never returned.

Her body will be found three months later in a field about fifty kilometers away. The autopsy revealed that she had been raped and stabbed to death.

A neighbor of the Jessops, Guy Paul Morin, was arrested in 1985 and sentenced to life in prison. He had always claimed his innocence.

DNA tests cleared him and he was released in 2015 and received $ 1.25 million in damages.

Investigators announced Thursday that they had discovered who the killer of little Christine was.

This is Calvin Hoover. This man, 28 years old at the time of the facts, was close to the victim’s family. He committed suicide in 2015.

He was identified thanks to a DNA sample of sperm taken from the girl’s underwear which was sent to an American laboratory specializing in genetic genealogy.
