Jailed for murder, inmate strangles pregnant partner during prison visit
Brandon Bion, detained at Andenne prison, appeared before the Namur criminal court on Monday for acts of domestic violence.
This young man, in his twenties, was sentenced in 2016 to 20 years imprisonment for murder.
On July 31, 2014, he stabbed Mustafa Hanoune, a 40-year-old motorist, in the heart of the city in Courcelles, Belgium.
It was the same year that he found a childhood friend known in elementary school through Facebook.
She came to visit him in prison and they became a couple. The young woman became pregnant with the murderer.
During an unsupervised visit to Andenne prison in July 2018, the meeting went wrong and the young woman, six and a half months pregnant, was beaten and strangled.
The victim showed signs of beatings on the body and face. It was the prison that denounced the facts because the young woman did not want to file a complaint.
The defendant claimed that it was the victim, who was hysterical and allegedly assaulted him. He threatened to post pictures of her naked on social networks.
He was sentenced Monday to one year in prison and a fine of 100 euros.
