Two teens discovered buried: the stepmother admits having starved them and locked them in a cage
Bodies of Mary Crocker, 14, and her brother Elwyn Crocker Junior, 14, were found in December 2018 in the courtyard of the family home in Guyton, Georgia (United States).
The two teenagers had never been reported missing.
It was the police who made the gruesome discovery following an anonymous call indicating that Mary had been missing since October and that she may have died.
The children’s father, Elwyn Crocker, 49, stepmother, Candice Crocker, 33, her mother, Kim Wright, 50, and Roy Anthony Prater, her partner, 55, had been arrested.
A few days ago, the mother-in-law signed a murder confession agreement that will save her the death penalty. She faces life imprisonment without any possible remission.
Both victims were homeschooled and suffered severe abuse. They were starved and locked in a dog cage, tied up and naked, as punishment.
Investigators had found a photo of the girl on her father’s phone some time before her death. She was naked, emaciated, and barely looked alive.
The only time Mary could bathe was when someone at home dragged the cage to the bathroom to clean it.
Roy Prater, the boyfriend of Candice Crocker’s mother, has also allegedly pleaded guilty to several counts, including murder. The details of his testimony are not yet known.
